Places to Visit
Visit and enjoy the splendour of the historical sites at Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth, The High Cross at Monasterboice, Mellifont Abbey in Collon, the Proleek Dolmen at Ballymascanlon and the famous Cooley Peninsula where Cuchullainn and Queen Maeve fought for the Brown Bull of Cooley, Stephenstown Pond, and St. Brigid’s Stream in Faughart.

Carlingford
Where the mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea, view the spectacular scenery as you walk along this old heritage town, browse through the craft shops and visit St John’s Castle.

Sport & Leisure
For the golfing enthusiasts, golf can be arranged on the following 18 hole golf courses, Blackrock, Killinbeg, Carnbeg, Ballymascanlon Hotel and Greenore. Golf Partners can also be arranged. For a night at the dogs, visit Dundalk’s refurbished dog track where racing takes place three nights a week; Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Or if you want to relax, why not visit the Dundalk Super Bowl for a relaxing game of ten pin bowling.

Dublin & Belfast
Dundalk is situated half way between Dublin and Belfast. Take the stress out of your holidays and visit both cities by public transport. Bus and Train Timetables are available.

Dundalk
Dundalk is the largest provincial town in Ireland, with a population of about 50,000 inhabitants. Take a stroll around the town and see some of its well known landmarks, including St Nicholas’ Church (The Green Church), the Maid of Eireann monument, Pro Cathederal, The Courthouse, The Old Windmill, Seatown and a walk down the Navvy Bank. Dundalk is noted for its pubs and cuisine. It is the home of the Harp Lager, and former McArdle’s, Brewery.

Culture & Theatre
A visit to the County Museum and Library is a must. The Dundalk International Drama Festival is held every year in conjunction with The Maytime Festival and takes place in the refurbished Town Hall. A visit to Inniskeen, Co Monaghan (8 miles approx.) to see the birthplace of one of Ireland’s greatest writers and storytellers - the late Patrick Kavanagh.
